Old Suspension Bridge at Tha Wang Pha

Tha Wang Pha Suspension Bridge - Nan Thailand

With the many river, in the old days Nan province was divided by rivers. Of course people started to build bamboo bridges, but they are washed away at every raining season. So about 30 to 40 years ago the government started to build simple suspension bridges. Just for people walking and bicycles. Well and later motorbikes. In the past 10 to 20 years most of the suspension bridges have been replaced by real bridges, that can also be used by cars. Well at the center of Tha Wang Pha is such an old suspension bridge that is still used. Although there are 2 big new bridges also, but north and south of town. And that is too far walking!

When to go to the Old Suspension bridge?

All year of course, every day.

Where to go?

In Tha Wang Pha town, about 100m after the 7/11 in town at a small square. Tha Wang Pha is about 45 km north of Nan town.

How to get there?

Best with your own transport, although there is public transport to Tha Wang Pha and the Orange Bus is even passing the small square where the bridge is.
