What Phaya Wat in Nan

Mon style Chedi at The What Phaya Wat in Nan - Thailand

The Wat Phaya Wat is again an extra-ordinary temple as the main attraction is an Chedi build in Mon architecture style (17th century). And the Chedi is still in nice original style, but seeing the fact that the temple is currently (May 2017) being renovated I am afraid that soon the Chedi will look like new. It is a small temple with a nice atmosphere about real local temple life in Nan. The temple is build along what was once Nan City Wall & Moat and some parts of that can still be seen.

When to go to the Wat Phaya Wat?

All year around, daily from 7:00 to 18:00, entrance is free

Where to go?

About 1km south of the bus-station of Nan town

How to get there?

Walking there would be a bit far but going there by bicycle would be fine, just follow route 101 for about 1 km south of town, then at the traffic lights (to Wat Khao Noi) take a right. The temple is then after about 200m on your left hand.
